A bit of an unconventional couple – Sophie and Doug expressed their individuality with a symbolic destination wedding in Punta Cana (there will be a separate blog post on that!) then had a legal Halloween wedding ceremony back in the GTA followed up a few days later with a formal reception at the Guild Inn Estates. Phew! But we loved helping them plan every minute of it! And two of the nicest people you will ever meet!
Doug loves, loves, loves Halloween so the idea of his wedding anniversary falling on this special holiday was just too great a temptation! Since the date fell on a Tuesday, the couple opted for a small civil ceremony. Starting with the First Look at the local pub, it was off to the ceremony with all the Halloween trimmings including painted ghost pumpkins, potions, spells and ghouls! Traditional elements like Scottish tartans and handfasting were also included (can’t veer too far off the trail!). It was all followed up by an informal reception with friends and family over laughter and more than a few beers! And check out that bloody wedding cake! Oh my!
A few days later, the big formal reception took place at the Guild Inn. Sophie sported her third dress (one for the destination wedding, one for the civil ceremony and now the reception) in an unusual navy blue. But looked absolutely stunning! The early November weather cooperated and they got some gorgeous photos around the grounds of the Guild Inn. The decor was elegant, with whites and ivories accented with navy blue. A hockey-themed wedding cake/cupcake display too centre stage. And there was no shortage of dancing and revelry through the evening!
Many congrats to you both Sophie & Doug! We are grateful for the wonderful friendship that we made with you along this incredible journey!
And as always, Jamieson Dean outdid himself with the incredible photography!
