Midday on the last day of the Love Mexico conference, we found ourselves at the Sandos Luxury Cancun resort, right on the Cancun strip.
This is a small luxury boutique hotel, with 214 rooms and suites. It is an “Adults Oriented” property meaning that children are allowed onsite but are not catered to. There is no formal childcare or children’s programs. This would be suitable for a wedding where there might be a few children who would be staying close by the parents anyway. Teens might not find that there is much to do however so perhaps not the best choice where teens and tweens might be part of the group.
It has 3 a la carte restaurants, 2 bars and 24 hour room service. It is located 10 miles from the airport.

For weddings they often used their garden wedding gazebo but we were visiting in low season and Sandos management had actually just started their complete transformation of the garden and gazebo area so I was unable to get any photos of the location. But they promise it will be amazing when it is done!
The rooftop terrace is a favourite site for private wedding ceremonies and follow up cocktail receptions:
Sandos staff were incredibly friendly and welcoming and many an agent were impressed with the property and the management (special mention to Esteban for being the consummate host)!
Sandos is also a very well priced option for groups looking for a destination wedding location. The value is excellent comparing its offerings to similar properties. Recommended!
