Midway through our September stretch and we find ourselves at the gorgeous Arcadian Court in Downtown Toronto for the wedding of Sarah and Sam.
We met this wonderful couple about a year ago as we began the wedding planning journey with them from scratch. They knew they wanted a downtown Toronto location. After looking at several venues, they decided upon Arcadian Court with it’s grand high ceilings, majestic arches, sparkling chandeliers and overall elegant ballroom ambiance.
Arcadian Court is owned by the Oliver Bonacini group so you know the food is going to be great. It has a very rich history too. This from their website:
“Originally opened in 1929, the Arcadian Court has a deep and rich history as a Toronto institution. It has hosted many monumental events including Toronto’s first auto show; the Toronto Symphony Orchestra’s first radio broadcasts; performances by entertainment legends such as Liberace; and Sotheby’s first auction outside of Britain, to name just a few.”
With a look and a pedigree like this – what’s not to love?
Sarah had a vision in mind for her wedding and that was gold – lots of gold. But with lots of lanterns and candlelight to really set a romantic mood. And it all turned out perfectly!
As you entered, you were greeted by a golden sign:
The ceremony was hosted on the mezzanine, which is a little different than where the ceremonies are usually held at this venue but it worked perfectly for the number of guests at the wedding (200):
To the sounds of a string quartet, and with Sarah’s brother officiating, the ceremony was underway!
Right afterwards, guests moved right over to the adjacent bar and cocktail area:
Then off to the reception! After finding your name at the reception table…
You made your way downstairs to your table….
Or maybe to the head table!
The beautiful backdrop was illuminated with twinkle lights, which further enhanced the mood….
Need some sugar?
Well, how about this gorgeous cake?
Or the all-out sweet table filled with favourites from the couple’s childhoods?
And after all that fine dining and sugar… the dancing has begun and the party is underway!
