The amazing Love Mexico 2015 Conference was held at the Moon Palace Resort in Cancun, Mexico. This is a 2400 room complex, consisting of three subsections, each considered and functioning as its own hotel. Guests at one can freely meander around to the other properties and utilize the amenities of all three.
We were staying in the Sunrise section of the hotel. This is the largest section with about 1200 rooms. The middle section is the Nizuc section with about 700 rooms. The Grand section was on the other end of the property and had the remainder of the rooms. I did not visit the Grand as it was under renovations.
Here are some of the views of the Sunrise hotel at the Moon Palace:
The drive up to the hotel:
As you are about to enter the lobby:
The bar area in the lobby, to get your refreshments while waiting to check in, meet with other guests or before leaving….
The lobby continued, with its massive Christmas tree, stained glass ceilings and escalators to the upper level where the ballrooms and meeting space is (outside the Convention Centre proper).
If you’re hungry, the main buffet called Bugambilias is well stocked with very yummy food. Health-conscious, gluten-free and other dietary plans are attended to.
The accommodations are well maintained. This is a standard room:
A whirlpool tub included! (Though I didn’t get a chance to try mine out!)
The view from my room, which was far from the beach but close to the Convention Centre where I was daily. Sadly, the weather was not great the time I was there. 😥
And now to explore the resort. There are several large pools making for one massive pool area on the Sunrise side. They also have Flowrider here, a surf simulator:
This is the small children’s section at Sunrise (kids tend to stay over at the Nizuc side):
The beach was not very long but it did stretch on forever!
I briefly went to tour the much smaller Nizuc side.
Here is the lobby with their amazing walk-through Christmas tree:
This is also where their wedding centre is located, where you would do all your appointments with the wedding team, including picking your decor, etc.
They also have a bridal room in the Wedding Centre, where brides can get ready before the ceremony with a few of their ladies-in-waiting:
For more about the wedding locations at Moon Palace, see my next post on “Moon Palace Wedding Locations”.
The pool at Nizuc is much smaller but it is also much quieter over here, being favoured by young families with kids:
The beach is very quiet too, and doesn’t have the same tiki huts as the Sunrise section:
But Nizuc is perfect if you don’t like the expanse of Sunrise and want something a little quieter.
