Day 2 at the Love Mexico Destination Wedding Conference started early at 8am. Well, even earlier for me since I tried the yoga session with Frederico from Omm Retreats. That was 6am! So I was ready to go for a chock full day of seminars and activities.
And the long walk to the lecture hall begins…. this is inside the Moon Palace Convention Centre:
The trade show began at 11am, full of the best wedding suppliers in Mexico. Every player in the all-inclusive resorts market as well as smaller venues and vendors who had so much information to share!
Had to hang out for a bit with the Mayan dancer of course…
Some upgraded beach decor, courtesy of the fabulous team at Zuniga…
And finally, as we got ready to go to lunch, the sun came out!
Back inside for lunch where we were treated to an enactment of a traditional Mayan wedding ceremony including drummers and a priestess:
The afternoon was filled with more opportunities to visit the trade show as well as further lectures and seminars from some of the best in the destination wedding business.
Then in the evening, we hopped on the bus and headed over to the Royalton Riviera Cancun Resort for a gala dinner. We were told to wear black formal attire. As it turns out we were in for a treat as the Royalton staff prepared a Venetian Masquerade Ball! As we got off the bus, we were greeted by costumed performers that just set the tone for the whole night.
Getting into the party mood:
We were treated to a tour of the property, which in truth blew us all away. It is a gorgeous venue for a wedding (more on this resort specifically in another post). We finally headed into the grand ballroom where we dined on filet mignon and lobster with all the trimmings.
Did I mention the incredible dessert spread? Sadly I didn’t have any pockets in my dress (otherwise I would be stuffing them full!)
It was a busy day to be sure… but awesome. Now to get some rest!
