After it being go-go-go since early May, with weddings almost every weekend, August was a bit lighter for us. Which blessedly gave us the opportunity to feel energized and revitalized for the wedding of Jane and Victor at The Old Mill.
This refreshing couple wanted to forgo the usual pomp and circumstance of the traditional wedding reception. They were very easy going and wanted something light and fun where they could celebrate with family and friends without the formality of a sit down dinner reception. So they opted for a luncheon buffet.
They chose The Old Mill as the location for their wedding ceremony and reception. The Old Mill has a rich history in Toronto. Situated in the heart of the Humber Valley, The Old Mill Tea Garden opened on the day that WW1 was declared (in 1914). It survived through the Great Depression, Hurricane Hazel which ravaged Toronto and many other changes. Finally in the 1980’s it was turned into a 16-room banquet facility complete with a wedding chapel.
Here is their candlelit wedding ceremony:
The exchange of rings:
And the kiss!
The stairs outside in the main foyer was the perfect location for a group photo:
And now for the reception!
Their green orchid cake was beautiful (and delicious!)
Lunch is served!
And the cake was cut….
We wish you a lifetime of happiness! Congrats!
